HBO Max Gives a First Look Into Upcoming Gossip Girl Reboot

Warner Media Group / HBO

Hey Upper-Eastsiders, HBO just released a teaser for the upcoming Gossip Girl Reboot. The revival will focus on a set of elite New York teens, much like the original group of fashionable and party-prone heirs.

The original starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chase Crawford, and Ed Westwick. The new ensemble includes Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, and Savannah Lee Smith. Kristen Bell, who provides the iconic voice of Gossip Girl, which first premiered in 2007, will also be coming back for the reboot. The show aired on the CW and ran for six seasons.

HBO Max provided a first look at the new series with an official teaser.

According to Deadline, the reboot will add a more modern take on the popular show, this time focusing on the impact of smartphones and social media on private school teens. The series is written, developed, and produced by Joshua Safran of Random Acts. Additionally, the reboot’s executive producers, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, created and ran the original. Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment, in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, produced the reboot.

The series will premiere on July 8 on HBO Max.
