New Ghostbusters: Afterlife Trailer Drops, Paul Rudd Brings the Humor
The latest trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife has dropped as anticipation mounts for the long-awaited release. The movie has been in the works for over two decades and is set to release in theaters on November 11, after halts in production and multiple recasts.
Paul Rudd leads the cast through strange occurrences and broken families in a small Oklahoman town in this reprisal of the cult classic. The trailer introduces us to new characters and settings, along with faces that defined the franchise – including the marshmallow men now in fun size.
So the Marshmallow men are back, which could only mean that writer and director Jason Reitman’s promise of creating a sequel to the classic 1980s Ghostbusters movies is coming true. In the clip circulating on Twitter, Mr. Grooberson (Paul Rudd) is attacked by an army of tiny, aggressive Stay-Puft marshmallow men while shopping in a supermarket. It’s a blast from the past as Ghostbusters: Afterlife honors its prequel which first appeared in 1984.
I appreciate that, in the @Ghostbusters universe, Stay Puft Marshmallows bounced back from the 1984 PR disaster that was their mascot coming to life and destroying New York.— Greg Miller (@GameOverGreggy) April 7, 2021

The movie boasts new and old characters, as they rediscover ghost-busting technology and strange supernatural events. Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, and McKenna Grace as newcomers to the franchise. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts will reprise their roles from the original movies.
So who are you going to call? (on a cellphone, of course, it is 30 years later after all). Check out the history of the beloved films and the development of the reprisal here.
