Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent, and More to Perform at the Ally Coalition Concert
Lana Del Rey, St. Vincent, Rufus Wainwright, and more set to perform at singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff’s Ally Coalition concert, and here’s what you need to know.
The annual Ally Coalition Talent Show benefit aims to aid LBGTQ+ youth who are struggling and fight for equality through music. Founded by Rachel Antonoff, Jack Antonoff, Nate Ruess, and Andrew Dost (members of the band FUN) in 2018, the organization hosts a concert every year and past performers include Taylor Swift, the Dixie Chicks, Kacey Musgraves, Lorde, Carly Rae Jepsen, and more. This year, the seventh annual talent show will include artists and comedians alike including Maggie Rogers (singer-songwriter), Hayley Williams (singer-songwriter), Kalen Allen (comedian known for his work on the Ellen show), Aidy Bryant (comedian known for her work on SNL), and more.
Although this years’ show will be virtual, it will by no means be lacking in terms of talent. The show is set to take place on December 21, 2020, at 9 PM ET on Twitch. You can RSVP to the Ally Coalition show on Twitch and a donation is encouraged. Some of the organizations which will benefit from the proceeds from donations to this event include BreakOUT!, BU Wellness Network, Lost-n-Found Youth, New Alternatives, and the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center.
According to Variety, when talking about the show, Antonoff said, “The TAC talent show is the night of the year I look forward to most. Obviously we can’t meet in person this year, but the money this show raises is more important than ever, considering how disproportionately marginalized communities have been affected by the pandemic. This show is always about getting my friends together and keeping things really loose, so magic can happen. This year will be no different – lots in store. Play it loud and have a party at home cause this one is gonna be something else.”
