The First Pictures From ‘Coming 2 America’ Have Been Released and We Are Thrilled
The sequel to the 1988 romantic comedy Coming to America has been in the works for a while, but the first pictures from the film have been released and we are beyond excited.
The romantic comedy set to be released on March 5, 2021, on Amazon Prime, has many of the original cast members returning and will feature new cast members, including Eddie Murphy, Shari Headley, James Earl Jones, Arsenio Hall, Wesley Snipes, John Amos, Leslie Jones, Kiki Layne, Rotimi, Garcelle Beauvais, Michael Blackson, Louie Anderson, Vanessa Bell Calloway, and more. The film will be directed by Craig Brewer and will feature a screenplay written by Kenya Barris, David Sheffield, and Barry W. Blaustein.
The upcoming film will be produced by Paramount Pictures, New Republic Pictures, Eddie Murphy Productions, and Misher Films. The plot of the sequel to the uproarious comedy will follow the soon-to-be king of Zamunda (Eddie Murphy) who learns that he has a son that he never knew about in America. Once again, Prince Akeem (Murphy) and his right-hand man Semmi (Hall) set off to America to meet his son. Due to COVID-19, the film has been delayed in its release. Amazon Prime released some of the first photos from the film earlier today and also tweeted a gif from the previous movie.
