Israeli actress Gal Gadot, known for her portrayal of Wonder Woman in the film Wonder Woman, is set to star in a new spy thriller movie, Heart of Stone, and here’s what you need to know.

The actress, model, and producer struck an eight-figure deal to be in an international spy thriller film, making her one of the most wealthy female actresses in the industry. Heart of Stone aims to put a feminist twist on classic spy films like the James Bond film franchise. The movie will feature a screenplay written by Greg Rucka (an acclaimed comic book and scriptwriter) and Allison Schroeder (known for writing Hidden Figures) and may be directed by Tom Harper (known for directing The Aeronauts).

Producers for the upcoming espionage film include David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger (all from Skydance Media), Gadot, Yaron Varsano (Gadot’s husband), and Julie Lynn. There has been no filming schedule or release date announced for the movie, only talk that it is now in the works. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Gadot’s latest project, the sequel to Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman 1984 will release on HBO Max on Christmas day.

Another one of Gadot’s upcoming projects includes a period piece, Cleopatra, which is set to be directed by Patty Jenkins (known for directing Wonder Woman 1984) and written by Laeta Kalogridis. The film is based on a story written by the actress (and was commissioned by her) and will be produced by Gadot and Paramount Pictures.

Fans voiced their excitement regarding the news of Gadot’s upcoming spy thriller project on social media. Many feel that she is the perfect fit for the role.
