The Trailer for Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley’s ‘Chaos Walking’ Is Finally Here

The long-awaited trailer for Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley’s YA adaption is finally here, and it looks amazing.

Chaos Walking, based on the best-selling book The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, had many scratching their heads when it was delayed after filming ceased in 2017. Now, the trailer is finally out and ready for release.

According to a synopsis provided by IMDb, the film is set in a dystopian world where “there are no women and all living creatures can hear each others’ thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds called Noise.”

In the recently released trailer, you see Holland’s character Todd Hewitt interacting with Ridley’s character Viola Eade for the first time. Todd is taken off guard by this interaction, as women are supposed to be nonexistent. Not only that, Todd is unable to hear Viola’s thoughts.

Aside from Holland and Ridley, the film also features appearances from Mads Mikkelsen, Ray McKinnon, Nick Jonas, David Oyelowo, and Cynthia Erivo.

The film is being directed by Doug Liman, best known for his work on the Tom Cruise-led film Edge of Tomorrow and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Ness and Christopher Ford collaborated on the screenplay.

Fans have taken to Twitter to share their reaction to the trailer, and most seem to be pleased with their first look at the sci-fi creation.

Lionsgate has scheduled Chaos Walking for a 2021 release. To keep up with release information and official content, follow the film’s official Twitter and Instagram.
