Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan are ending 2020 on a good note – with the release of a new romantic comedy called Wild Mountain Thyme.

The film’s production company, Bleecker Street films, revealed the trailer on Tuesday afternoon, giving fans something to look forward to in the next few weeks.

According to a synopsis provided by IMDb, the film follows “a pair of star-crossed lovers in Ireland [who] get caught up in their family’s land dispute.”

The trailer showcases Blunt’s character Rosemary on a quest to win her neighbor Anthony’s (Dornan) love. Due to a family curse, Anthony is oblivious to her interest until his cousin (Hamm) returns with an interest in the farm and Rosemary’s affection.

The film is directed and written by John Patrick Shanley, best known for his work on the Oscar-winning film Moonstruck. This comes as Shanley’s first time behind the director’s chair since his 2008 film Doubt.

Apart from Blunt and Dornan, the film also stars Christopher Walken, Jon Hamm, Jon Tenney, Dearbhla Molloy, and Danielle Ryan.

Recently, Blunt has graced the screen with Mary Poppins Returns, A Quiet Place, and The Girl on the Train. The actress was set to appear in A Quiet Place Part II in March, but it was ultimately delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.

Dornan has certainly made a name for himself in the acting world after he appeared alongside Dakota Johnson in the controversial Fifty Shades series. Since then, Dornan has appeared on screen for the latest Robin Hood adaption and his newest film Endings, Beginnings with Sebastian Stan and Shailene Woodly.

Wild Mountain Thyme will be available on digital, on-demand, and in select theaters on December 11. This new rom-com is the perfect way to wrap up the stressful year.
