“I literally was supposed to be on a conference call today about bringing Coyote Ugly back,” Banks said. “We were supposed to be on a call today, and I’m talking to you and I can’t talk to them.”
Banks went on to confirm the reboot, saying there is still talk on whether it will be brought back as a sequel or a television show.
“Yes, we are talking about trying to do Coyote Ugly 2 or a series,” Banks said.
According to a synopsis provided by IMDb, the film follows a “singer named Violet Sanford (Piper Perabo) who, after getting a job at a women-run NYC bar that teases its male patrons, comes out of her shell.” Banks starred in the original film as Zoe, a successful bartender at the establishment. The movie also includes Maria Bello (Beautiful Boy), Izabella Miko (Deadwood), Bridget Moynahan (iRobot), and John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane).

As of right now, there is no word on whether or not the original cast will reprise their roles for the new installment.
Banks revealed to Clarkson that she took her original audition for the film seriously, wildly dancing to Prince’s hit song ‘Kiss’ in front of the casting team.
“For my audition for Coyote Ugly, they asked me what song I wanted to play,” Banks said. “I was like, ‘OK, I’ll take Prince’s ‘Kiss.’ They push play. I’m in this huge hotel room, all these casting people lined up looking at me. And I’m dancing. I’m head whipping.”
The model revealed that she believes Dancing With the Stars could help her prepare for her role in the reboot.
“I feel like I do have the dance moves, as long as no one choreographs me and tells me exactly how to dance,” Banks said. “I’m kind of tempted to ask [Derek Hough] to choreograph like 16 counts for me to see if I can do it.”
Although a production date has not yet been disclosed we are excited to see what they plan to produce. To watch Banks’ full interview with Clarkson, click here.
