Carrie Wampler Joins the Cast of ABC’s ‘The Goldbergs’
Actress Carrie Wampler is joining the cast of ABC’s hilarious comedy The Goldbergs.
Wampler is known from her roles in Big Little Lies, 9-1-1, The Yellow Birds, and Maximum Ride. She also had a recurring role on Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally. She has guest-starred on shows such as Parks and Recreation, Surviving Jack, Instant Mom, and more. Her next project will be Lifetime’s film The Surrogate.
According to Deadline, Wampler will play Ren, a stylish, artsy, rebellious, and effortless Manhattan NYC prep school girl. Ren is Erica’s college friend and Barry’s new girlfriend. She will replace Kelli Berglund, who originally was cast in the role. Deadline states, “Berglund had to exit the series because of another commitment, according to the network.”

The series stars Sean Giambrone (Adam), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Beverly), Jeff Garlin (Murray), Hayley Orrantia (Erica), Troy Gentile (Barry), George Segal (Pops), and Sam Lerner (Geoff Schwartz).
The Goldbergs is heading into its eighth season and some of the cast have already shared what filming is like with all of the new and necessary safety precautions to keep the cast safe. You can read about that here.

Orrantia posted the news of Wampler being cast to her Instagram Stories with the caption, “Welcome to the fam!” She also commented on Wampler’s post saying, “YAY!!! So happy to be working together!”
We are so excited to see Wampler join the show and know she will be an amazing addition. The Goldbergs does not have an official premiere date yet, but they have revealed that the 80s film the series will be paying homage to in their premiere, will be Airplane and we can’t wait.
