Beyonce’s global campaign, BeyGOOD, which was founded by the megastar back in 2013, partnered with NAACP in July to launch the Black-owned Small Business Impact Fund. This organization is committed to supporting Black-owned small businesses that have been negatively impacted by the current events during COVID-19.

The first round of funds was announced in July and applications closed on Aug. 18. The fund awarded $10,000 grants to 20 recipients for their struggling businesses.

The application for the second round of funds opened on September 2nd. The 24-award winning artist-slash-Birthday Queen announced she is donating $1 million dollars in additional funds for the Black-owned Small Business Impact Fund.

Fans are quick to be grateful for Beyonce’s heart and generosity. According to Billboard, Beyonce spoke out about the impact the Coronavirus pandemic has had on Black Americans during her appearance on the One World: Together at Home virtual concert back in April. “This virus is killing Black people at an alarmingly high rate here in America,” she told viewers, pointing out that Black Americans “disproportionately belong” to the workforce deemed essential workers.
