Selena Gomez’s New Beauty Line Rare Beauty Is Available Now
Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty has officially launched.
Gomez announced her beauty line back in February and since then fans have been counting down the days until they could buy their favorite products. Luckily, today is that day.
On Instagram, Gomez said she has been working on the line for two years. She also wrote, “something I’m really proud of -can’t believe I finally get to share it with you.” In another post, she said Rare Beauty is “makeup made to feel good in, without hiding what makes you unique.”
Rare Beauty officially launched at 12 AM ET today and fans were eagerly counting down the minutes until they could purchase their favorites.

Gomez believes everyone is “unique and rare. But today, too many people feel trapped by unrealistic expectations that are impossible to achieve.“ She says Rare Beauty is “about accepting who you are – and finding the beauty in your imperfections.”

Rare Beauty’s official website defines the new collections as “breaking down unrealistic standards of perfection. This is makeup made to feel good in, without hiding what makes you unique—because Rare Beauty is not about being someone else, but being who you are.”
There is also a note from Gomez (the founder) stating, “I think Rare Beauty can be more than a beauty brand—it can make an impact. I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to each other and just start embracing our own uniqueness.”
Their mission is “to help everyone celebrate their individuality by redefining what beautiful means. We want to promote self-acceptance and give people the tools they need to feel less alone in the world.”
Their vision is “to create a safe, welcoming space in beauty—and beyond—that supports mental well-being across age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, cultural background, physical or mental ability, and perspective.”

Rare Beauty has set up the Rare Impact Fund. The goal of the Rare Impact Fund is to raise $100 million over the next ten years to help address the gaps in mental health services for underserved communities. From the first Rare Beauty product sold and onward, one percent of all sales, as well as funds raised from partners, will be dedicated to the Rare Impact Fund that aims to increase access to mental health resources.
They also created the Rare Beauty Mental Health Council. This council is composed of expert advisors from leading universities, organizations, and companies focused on mental health. The Rare Beauty Mental Health Council is going to guide the company’s strategy to ensure maximum impact.
Rare Beauty has support and resources available on their site as well. Their aim is to “build connection, to inspire friendship, and to reduce loneliness.” They have partnered with leading organizations to provide resources for the Rare Beauty community. They have information and numbers for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), The Trevor Project, and Sad Girl’s Club.
[Mental health has always been a topic close to Selena’s heart so, alongside Rare Beauty, she also launched The Rare Impact Fund to help increase MH resources. @selenagomez believes there’s “complete beauty in imperfection,” which is why makeup should just be an accessory.]
