Lizzo continues to collect W’s as she claims Best Female R&B/Pop Artist Award at the 2020 BET Awards.

I don’t believe in being the ‘best of’ in a category of superior talent,” Lizzo writes in an Instagram caption on her latest photo. “I only believe in being the best me.” On Saturday’s 2020 BET Awards, Lizzo received the award for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist.

The Truth Hurts singer accepted the award at the virtual show with a pre-recorded speech. “Thank you so much BET and thank you to all the wonderfully talented beautiful black women I shared this category with.” Lizzo also made sure to thank Beyonce in her speech for all that she has done for black culture.

The winner continued, “I have to say that three years ago, I sat in the audience for the BET Awards and I didn’t win anything, but I still went home and felt like a winner.”

At last year’s 2019 BET Awards, Lizzo performed her hit, ‘Truth Hurts’, and though she didn’t win anything, she says she “still felt like a winner.”

“This year I have the honor of winning this prestigious award but I will always feel like a winner because as long as you’re winning in life, that’s the only trophy you need.”
