Swift first announced the documentary in November 2019. While her public feud with Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta, and her former label Big Machine Records was occurring, Swift revealed she was working on a documentary with Netflix that showcased her life.
Fortunately, Big Machine Records finally agreed to let Netflix and director Lana Wilson use Swift’s songs and performances in Miss Americana. The documentary is said to be very raw and emotional, showing us a side of Swift we haven’t seen before. In Netflix’s synopsis of the film, they say that Swift “learns to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer, but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.”
Taylor Swift has become more private in the last few years so fans are ready to see her in a new light. They are excited to see more behind the scenes of her day-to-day life.
The two promo pics we’ve had so far are literally opposites. We have Taylor at the AMAs and Taylor at home at the piano with her cat. This documentary is really going to show us all aspects of her life and I am here for it #MissAmericana pic.twitter.com/8ayGpM1aNN
