In this short, Zuri, the daughter, is getting ready for a big day and is having trouble picking and mastering a hairstyle. Zuri’s hair truly has a mind of its own and when she attempts to style it herself it goes wrong. Stephen, her father, is used to his wife taking care of her beautiful locks, but unfortunately, she wasn’t there to lend a hand. No matter how hard the task, Stephen loves his daughter unconditionally and would do anything to make her happy.

It is no wonder this animated short is nominated for an Oscar. It is a touching story that shows the true love and empowerment that lies in a father-daughter relationship.
