Mahalia has such a profound music ability that was recognized at an early age. She signed to Asylum Records via Atlantic at the age of 13. During this time she finished school in her hometown while trying to pin down her exact sound. Her breakout album, “Sober”didn’t come out until 2017, but was well worth the wait.

Her newest album, “Love and Compromise”, is another intimately authentic compilation of tracks.  Mahalia’s inspiration for her latest album came from quite the diverse range of emotions. Listeners and fans can truly connect to the way she portrays love including all of the highs and lows.

In reference to the subject matter, Mahalia had said that her album discusses her emotions of falling in and out of love, breaking hearts, and what she had and had not given up in relationships.

However, she states that simple daily life came as the main inspiration for the record. For Mahalia, everything became influential. Anything she heard in a restaurant or even on the street became inspiration for music. Fans of the musician can catch a glimpse of her emotion in the artists music videos as well. They always seem to tell more of the story, something that has quickly become a signature move for Mahalia.
