Cole’s 2019 album KOD, ended with a track titled “Intro to the Fall Off 2020,” so this new album is expected to pick up from there.

The album has been in the works for a while, even before the release of his previous album. In an interview, Cole explained that some tracks he released in 2016 were intended for his upcoming album, The Fall Off. The Dreamville rapper has not hinted at the upcoming album anywhere else but on Twitter in response to a curious fan’s tweet.

He confirmed, to the delight of J. Cole fans everywhere, that he is indeed working on the new album. Now we are not only looking forward to the upcoming holiday season, but also to the original project Cole will release in the new year.
