Not too far from the success of studio album, Baby on Baby, DaBaby will be released his second album, Kirk.

Just after midnight on September 27th, the North Carolina rapper dropped his second album of the year, Kirk. The star-studded tracklist features collaborators such as Chance The Rapper, Nicki Minaj, Migos, Lil Baby, Gucci Mane, Kevin Gates, and Moneybagg Yo. Earlier this year DaBaby was just settling into the hip-hop world with his hit single “Suge,” which was followed by the major-label debut of his album Baby on Baby

In a recent interview the rapper confirms the reasoning for the album’s title “My last name, the weight, it’s all about confidence, being a leader.” Prior to the news of the rapper becoming number one, DaBaby, born Jonathan Kirk, was given the heartbreaking news of his father’s passing. “Intro” is the most personal song on the project as it touches on his father’s death and explains how the news affected him.

The Cleveland born but North Carolina raised artist happens to be the most in-demand collaborator of the summer featuring in Megan Thee Stallion’s “Cash ___, ” Post Malone’s “Enemies,” Lil Nas X’s “Panini” remix and many more. While DaBaby continues to keep the world dancing with his creativity and bold demeanor, we all can’t wait to see what the XXL Freshman has instore for the world.
