The world was shocked to hear Nicki Minaj has decided to retire, but Queen Latifah does not believe the retirement will last long. Following her European tour On September 5th, Nicki Minaj took to social media to report she will be retiring from the music industry to focus on the family she wants to build with fiancé Kenneth Petty. Everyone’s reactions have been different, but in a quick interview with TMZ,  rap pioneer Queen Latifah threw her support for Minaj wanting to focus on her personal life, but stated “that once you’re a rapper, you’ll always have a hunger for the art form,” implying Minaj will be back.

The actress also stated, “she must be in love and happy…Let her live, she’s been grinding for a long time.” As one of the most profound female artists, Queen Latifah’s support of Minaj was heartfelt for us and even the “Megatron” artist herself. Nicki Minaj took to social media once again to show appreciation for the support and also apologize to her fans for the abrupt announcement of her retirement.

Minaj closed with stating that she will be going on her Queen Radio Station to discuss her decision further. We can only hope the rapper’s hiatus won’t be forever.
