Halle Bailey Is Set to Play Ariel in Disney’s Live-Action Remake of ‘The Little Mermaid’
Disney has cast the role of Ariel for the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and we couldn’t be more excited. Halle Bailey will be playing the role of the iconic mermaid Ariel, the princess of the sea who longs to explore the land above. Halle is an R&B singer with her sister and they form the duo Chloe x Halle. The sisters also star in the Freeform show “Grown-ish.” After the news was announced, the Chloe x Halle Twitter account tweeted, “dream come true…”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rob Marshall who is set to direct the film said in a statement, “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.
Zendaya, Halle Berry and many more are sharing their excitement and congratulating her for landing the part as Ariel. We are extremely excited to see Halle play Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and to find out who else she’ll be working with on this project.
