Banks Pairs Her Stunning Voice with Striking Visuals

Harvest Records

Banks’ whisper-like voice and melancholic instrumentals go hand in hand. Jillian Rose Banks, with her moniker Banks often stylized in all caps, has a lilt to her voice that adds dimension and a dynamic quality.

She began writing songs at the age of 15 and taught herself piano on a keyboard a friend gifted to help her cope with her parents’ divorce. She also got her bachelor’s degree in psychology and kept her music private while in school. In 2013 she released two EPs called Fall Over and London and in 2014 put out her debut album Goddess which reached number 12 on the US Billboard 200. Her second album The Altar came out in 2016 and received positive praise as well and reached the US top 20. She recently released her single Gimme in April 2019 to prelude her new album set to come out on July 12, 2019. She said this new album signifies her passage from a naive girl into a wise woman.
