Check Out Hozier’s New Music Video

In the new music video for his song “Almost (Sweet Music)” Hozier pays tribute to the era of jazz. “Since the song references music so much and is about the experience of listening to music, the concept of this video is kind of drawing from the jazz tradition and just a lot of musicians and a lot of dancers whose disciplines stem from that tradition,” Hozier says of the ballad, the lyrics of which reference Duke Ellington and John Coltrane among others.

The music video references the traditions of jazz as well as the lyrics. Musicians, partner dancing, tap, love, and connection are the heart of the story, all backed by Hozier’s world-wearied vocals. It is truly a beautiful video.

Hozier’s second full album, Wasteland, Baby!, was his first number one album when it dropped in March. The songs are a collection of hits, and, arguably, some of his best work. If he continues improving the way he is there is no doubt of his continued success.
