See What Celine Dion and Others Did to Support World Health Day

Celine Dion leads the way as she and other stars gave back on World Health Day.

This past week, Dion and her fellow entertainment and sports superstars banded together to promote the David Clark Cause’s “Call for Code” campaign. Celine brought out all of the stops, along with celebrities including the Jonas Brothers and Little Big Town, and Olympians Apolo Ohno and Laurie Hernandez. Together, the stars brought attention and spread the message of the campaign, raising awareness and discussing it on their social media.

With a focus on creating a strong community of not only celebrities, but also business, political, and scientific leaders, the campaign this year focused on helping those impacted by natural disasters all across the world. This topic is especially poignant in the wake of countless natural disasters that have impacted many lives in America. With a track record of tackling social issues through the improvement and development of technology, this initiative has and continues to make a difference all across the globe.

Dion tweeted her support for the Call for Code campaign saying, “It’s UN #WorldHealthDay! Let’s support people affected by Natural Disasters with #CallforCode. You can help @UNHumanRights & @RedCross in their efforts to help the most vulnerable among us.”

The Jonas Brothers and Little Big Town followed suit, also tweeting the message, and raising awareness for the coders and programmers who were part of the campaign.

The amazing program will continue through October, culminating in the 2nd Annual Call for Code Global Prize. Along with its partner, IBM, the Call for Code campaign will present the final winners with their prize, along with $200,000. The winning team will be the one that develops the best software positioned to assist people in need.

Good luck to all the teams, and we can’t wait to see how they change the world!
