Emma Corrin will star as Princess Diana in The Crown’s upcoming season.

This past week, Netflix officially announced that newcomer Corrin will be playing the coveted role of Lady Diana Spencer in the next season of The Crown. The fourth season of the beloved show will feature Corrin as Diana before she is crowned as Princess of Wales.

The Crown’s plot centers on the reign and life of Queen Elizabeth II, played by Claire Foy in the first and second season. Foy played the Queen in the younger years of the Queen’s reign, winning an Emmy for her portrayal. Recent Oscar winner, Olivia Colman will take over from Foy, playing the Queen during her later years through season three and four. Corrin, an actress with few past credits and who is relatively new to the field, will be joining this all-star cast.
