When former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama released her memoir it was obvious that it would be a bestseller.

Michelle Obama, among many things, is—an inspirational woman, style icon, writer, and she may soon be a record breaker as well. Becoming, which was released in November 2018, sold 725,000 copies and became the best selling book of the year. According to its publisher and Penguin Random House owner Bertelsmann, the novel has sold over 10 million copies since it was released in November 2018. Thomas Rabe, CEO at Bertelsmann said in a conference, “We believe this could become the most successful memoir ever.”

According to Bloomberg, Michelle’s story Bertelsmann’s sales to about $20 billion (the highest it’s been since 2007). This year Barack Obama is set to release a memoir of his own and we don’t doubt that it’ll be another bestseller for the Obama household.

Michelle Obama continues to inspire us all and make history while doing so.

As I read through your feedback on my book, one theme that keeps popping up is how to empower the women around us—whether that’s our girlfriends, coworkers, or the women we see at the gym or at happy hour. Empowering each other is a big question and can take a lot of forms, but one thing I know is that it’s up to us to be there for each other—especially those who often feel overlooked—because when someone shows genuine interest in your growth and development, it can make all the difference in the world. So for#WomensHistoryMonth, I want you to let me know how you’re making an impact on another woman’s life. Whether that’s joining a mentoring program, asking your boss about how they’re planning to get more women’s voices at the table, or simply taking 10 minutes to lend an ear to your coworker over coffee, I want to hear what you’re up to! Let me know in a short video or in comments below. 👇🏾#IAmBecoming #WellnessWednesday
