Revival introduced their swimwear collection for Spring/Summer 2020 on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at NYFW 2019.

The show began with a sultry remix of Donna Summer’s “Love to Love You Baby” playing before the first model walked down the runway. The swimwear showcased solid, vibrant colors with gold grommet details. The color palette for the collection was simple; the suits all came in white, black, olive green, and orange. The swimsuit styles were more elaborate and featured various cuts, strap designs, lace-up details, and cutouts, giving them an edgy and fresh feel.

The line also featured cropped tees and sweatshirts, bike shorts, and joggers to layer over the swimsuits. Every look included white Skechers.

The models who walked the show were of various sizes instead of all fitting one body type. There was also a plus-sized model in a black one-piece with lace-up detail in the front who walked the runway to cheers of support from the audience.

Featuring models of various sizes was a trend on many designer’s runways. There is definitely room for even more diversity and inclusion, but so far a number of designers are moving in the right direction. They are listening to and acting on consumers’ desires to see a larger variety of body types in the fashion industry. This is a wonderful trend that will hopefully continue until it becomes commonplace. To check out the complete collection, visit the Revival website and follow the brand on Instagram.
