Celebrities Attend The Hollywood Reporter’s 2019 Toronto Foreign Film Festival Celebration

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and The Hollywood Reporter Party at 2019 Toronto International Film Festival

A number of A-list celebrities attended the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s (HFPA) and The Hollywood Reporter’s 2019 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) celebration on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Celebrities such as Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez, Ansel Elgort and more attended the celebration which was produced by Brilliant Consulting and presented by Dior and the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto.

The celebration took place in the Aria ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, where guests were treated to a decadent meal of lemon chicken piccata, chutney mint samosas and seared tuna on crispy rice. The meal was accompanied by champagne and ended with an array of desserts such as lemon tartlets, madeleines, chocolate truffles and more.

The guest list was extensive and included some of the most well-known names in Hollywood, including Alex Rodriguez, Caroline Day, Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson, Eddie Murphy, Isla Fisher, Kerry Washington, Shailene Woodley, and many more.

The HFPA announced the winners of their 2020 Residency Program in partnership with Film Independent. The two organizations will host their second three-week program intended for new and mid-career filmmakers. These filmmakers were selected from the Orizzonti section of the Venice International Film Festival and the TiFF Filmmaker Lab. This year’s winners were Charles Williams from Australia for All These Creatures, Chema Garcia from Spain for Misterio, and Karen Chapman from Canada for Measure.

The residency program will take place in Los Angeles in January 2020 and will include an intensive schedule with sessions focusing on the business and creative sides of the film industry. The program will also include a chance for the winners to attend the HFPA Golden Globe® Awards Viewing Party and public screenings of select Fellows’ films at Film Independent’s screening room to share their work with both industry professionals and the film community.
