At first, it was all about dance for Maddie, but now she is stepping into the fashion scene.

Maddie Ziegler first entered the spotlight by being an amazing dancer on Lifetime’s hit reality show, Dance Moms. Maddie performed dance routines so flawlessly that she landed the opportunity to star in multiple videos for pop singer, Sia and she was an official judge on So You Think You Can Dance, a popular dance competition TV show. Now, Maddie has set her sights on the fashion world by collaborating with the athletic brand, Fabletics to produce a cute and sporty fashion line. Fabletics founder, Kate Hudson, expressed interest in collaborating with Maddie and asked her to design her own collection while she was on set during Sia’s film, “Music”. Maddie stated, “When we had rehearsals, Kate would bring me a lot of Fabletics clothes, and one day she asked me to do a collaboration, and I thought it was super fitting since I’m a dancer so it kind of just worked out pretty well”.

Maddie described her design process by stating, “Kate and Fabletics have already designed amazing things for Fabletics in the past, so I kind of took their pieces and put my own spin on it. I love color and I kind of wanted to bring my own personality to the clothes and that’s basically what this is”. This collection features sports bras, crop tops, tanks, biker shorts, and leggings. A couple of her favorite items in the collection are the royal blue biker shorts and the vintage, grey crop top with rainbow stripes printed on it. Maddie goes on to say, “I struggle with confidence sometimes, especially in activewear, so I made sure that all of the leggings and crop tops are all very breathable and comfortable, but also are very flattering and hold you in all the right places so that you don’t have to worry about checking to see what you look like in the mirror”.

Maddie wanted to add a lot of color and bold prints when designing the Maddie X Fabletics collection, but most importantly, she wanted her collection to encourage others to feel powerful and confident.
