Sandra Bullock gave us all the feels at the 2019 MTV Movie and TV Awards. Bullock won the award for the Most Frightened Performance in the movie Bird Box. In her speech, Bullock explains why she decided to take the role in the Netflix movie Bird Box. She explained, “I made Bird Box because my children asked why I never made anything for them. So when Bird Box crossed my path I knew this was a story I needed to make.” Bullock then goes on to explain the importance of family to her children and why she made the film. She told her children that when they are old enough to see the movie they will know that there is nothing that their mom would not do for them.

Bullock explained, that sometimes you are born into a family or you find one or one finds you but no matter how you enter the family, you protect them.

At the end of her speech, she revealed that her son wanted her to make a superhero movie not one about family. She proceeded to thank MTV and those who recognized her fear, “because it allowed me to be here tonight and bring my Marvel-loving, DC-loving son with me so he may stand in the same room with real superhero’s like Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, trailblazers like Jada Pinkett Smith and I am sure he will notice they are women just like his mama.”
