Mary J. Blige Named as Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree

Superstar icon Mary J. Blige was just announced as the honorable recipient of the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. Blige has eight multi-platinum albums and has received nine Grammy Awards. She has also been nominated for the Golden Globes twice, and a SAG nod. In 2018, she was an Oscars double nominee for best-supporting actress and for best song in the film Mudbound.

Previous Lifetime Achievement Award recipients include Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, and Prince.

The official #BETAwards ceremony, hosted by Regina Hall at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, will be televised live on Sunday, June 23rd at 8/7c on BET channel. Live performances will include Lizzo, Kiana Ledé, Lil Nas X, Cardi B, and Billy Ray Cyrus. Presenters will include Yara Shahidi, Taraji P. Henson, Lena Waithe, Marsai Martin, and Morris Chestnut.
