The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. holds an award ceremony annually to honor and celebrate fashion and accessory designers.

So many deserving designers were honored at the June 3rd award ceremony held at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City. The honorees at what is known as the “Fashion Oscars”  included Brandon Maxwell (Womenswear Designer of the Year), Carine Roitfeld (Founder’s Award), Emily Adams Bode (Emerging Designer of the Year) and Bob Mackie who was awarded the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.

Style icon Jennifer Lopez was also honored this year with the Fashion Icon Award. She rocked a custom Ralph Lauren crop top/full skirt ensemble as she thanked the many designers who have assisted in her style journey.

The CFDA Awards would not be the CFDA Awards if there were not fashion looks being served at every turn. Designers dressed their celebrity muses to the nines, including Kerby Jean-Raymond, the mind and design behind Pyer Moss, who came into the awards with an entire squad.

The squad consisted of Jhene Aiko, A$AP Ferg, Joan Smalls, Joey Bada$$, and activist Deray McKesson. They shut down the CFDA carpet in custom pastel Pyer Moss in honor of Kerby’s CFDA Award nomination (Menswear of the Year). Kerby even gave fans a look into how the night began with a short clip on his Instagram.

Serving looks is one thing, serving looks with your crew is a much better time.
