Sephora to Close All U.S Locations for Diversity Training
All distribution and corporate locations will participate.
Sephora will close their doors Wednesday to conduct a diversity training for all their employees. This training comes after American singer-songwriter SZA took to Twitter and accused a staff member at a Calabasas Sephora of racially profiling her. SZA tweeted “LMAO Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing. We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy”. Sephora was quick to respond to SZAs’ tweet ensuring her that she is a part of the Sephora family and they are committed to making every member of the family feel welcomed.

The decision that Sephora made to close their stores for a day for inclusive training is similar to how Starbucks handled their accusation to racial profiling. Hopefully, the people who are employed by Sephora take this training seriously and learn from this issue.
