Jackie Aina, a force within the beauty industry, has landed her first big cover with Essence magazine.

The Nigerian-American YouTube star has become a voice within the beauty industry as an advocate for inclusivity and diversity. She joined YouTube in 2009 to showcase and experiment with different makeup looks after being told certain looks would not work for her due to her skin complexion. Now with over 3 million subscribers, Jackie Aina uses her platform to not only show other women of color that it is possible to sport less than ordinary makeup looks, but that they are important to the beauty industry as well. Jackie Aina’s content is what we all live for as she highlights beauty industry flaws and makes us belly laugh all in within a 10 minute video.

Jackie’s accomplishments are shooting through the roof. She’s partnered with e.l.f Cosmetics, Sigma Beauty, Artist Couture, Too Faced, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Fenty Beauty, Pat McGrath, and many more. In 2018, Jackie also won an NAACP Image Award for “YouTuber of the Year” and was even featured in Forbes Africa. Now Jackie Aina can be seen on the digital cover of the legendary Essence Magazine. The Essence cover story highlights Jackie’s journey and even gets into her future plans. Jackie took to Instagram to briefly speak about her Essence experience saying “To any girl who’s ever dreamed of the impossible, it’s possible! I’m living proof of it.”
