Feminism, but make it fashion.

This fashion powerhouse is no stranger to making controversial statement pieces for the runway. This week, Gucci debut its 2020 Cruise showcase and displayed clothing pieces that represent pro-choice and feminism.

The collection included designs like bell bottom pants and flowy, ornate pattern tops. One fashion piece that was highlighted throughout the fashion show was a chiffon dress that displayed a uterus in the front. The dress was accessorized with a jean jacket with the famous feminist phrase “My Body My Choice”. Their 2020 Cruise fashion line was inspired by 70’s culture, which proved to be a revolutionary time for woman’s reproductive rights.

The collection debuted just two weeks after Alabama passed an abortion ban into law and the same day Planned Parenthood announces the closure of their last clinic in Missouri. This bold statement that Gucci is portraying silently speaks volumes on the topics of feminism and pro-choice.
