The Winners For the 50th Annual NAACP Image Awards Have Been Announced

And we have winners…

The NAACP Images Awards are held annually to honor outstanding performances in film, television, music, and literature by people of color. The awards show has not aired yet, but the winners of several categories were announced!

ABC’s Black-ish cast took home several awards! Marsai Martin won two Image Awards for “Outstanding Supporting Actress” in a Comedy Series and “Outstanding Performance By a Youth”. Marcus Scribner won in the “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” for his role as Andre Jr. on the series.

The cast of Black Panther brought home 7 image awards. The categories include: “Outstanding Directing in A Motion Picture” (Ryan Coogler), “Outstanding Supporting Actor in A Motion Picture” (Michael B.Jordan), “Outstanding Supporting Actress in A Motion Picture” (Danai Gurira), and “Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation” (Kendrick Lamar and Various Artists).

“Outstanding Directing in A Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album” went to Donald Glover and his alias Childish Gambino for Atlanta and “This is America”.

After winning the Vanguard Award with wife and queen, Beyoncé at the 30th GLAAD Awards, Jay-Z brought home the President’s Award!

The show will be airing Saturday, March 30th at 9pm EST, on TVOne.
