Amy Schumer’s Heartfelt Announcement

Instagram

In her brand new Netflix comedy special, entitled “Growing,” Amy Schumer discloses that her husband, Chris Fischer, has recently been diagnosed with a form of autism, previously known as Asperger’s.

In the special, she opens up about her relationship with her husband of one year saying, “He has autism spectrum disorder. He’s on the spectrum. And there were some signs early on.” However, she makes it clear that she loves him all the more for it by saying “I really want to get this right because I love him very much.”

She even goes on to say that, “Once he was diagnosed, it dawned on me how funny it was, because all of the characteristics that make it clear that he’s on the spectrum are all of the reasons that I fell madly in love with him,” she said. “That’s the truth. He says whatever is on his mind. He keeps it so real. He doesn’t care about social norms or what you expect him to say or do.”

Despite the diagnosis, their love is still going strong and steady. She made this very clear as she thanked him throughout her special for his steadfast support throughout her pregnancy. Her comedy special, which premieres on Netflix across the world Tuesday and Wednesday, has been highly anticipated by fans for months.

She posted this poster for it on her Instagram, as the premiere date approached.
