Ellie Goulding Brings New Sound in ‘Flux’

With her past hits like “Love Me Like You Do” and “Lights” we got to know Ellie Goulding as an EDM pop artist. Her songs were perfect to dance to and sing along with in your car on a road trip. However, her newest song “Flux” is a beautiful ballad about the one who got away. It is heartbreaking and incredibly relatable. “Still in love with the idea of living you. It’s a state of flux. I just keep holding on,” she sings, about the deep pain that comes when you can no longer be with the one you love.
This new sound is very welcome. The song feels more genuine and raw than any of the music we’ve heard from the artist before. It shows off her gorgeous authenticity as well as the beauty of her vocal range and it’s something to behold. The music is simple, just a piano, so nothing distracts from her gorgeous melodies.
