Olivia Colman absolutely rocked the house with laughter last night as she accepted the Academy Award for Actress in a Leading Role for her depiction of the Queen in The Favourite.

Olivia Colman’s face lit up in childlike wonder as her name was announced for Actress in a Leading Role. This was her first Oscar nomination and win, and it was evident that she was overcome with joy and disbelief at the honor.

“Oh, this is genuinely quite stressful! This is hilarious!” Colman remarked as she took to the mic to begin an acceptance speech that could double as a stand-up comedy set. Addressing her win over Glenn Close, Colman stated, “To be in a category these extraordinary women…Glenn Close, you’ve been my idol for so long, this is not how I wanted it to be, and I think you’re amazing, and I love you very much.”

In her state of bubbly and lighthearted shock, Olivia made it a point to say kind words about all the ladies in the category for Actress in a Leading Role.
