Hannah Beachler Has Historic Win for Black Panther at the Oscars
This year’s Academy Awards were all about making history!
Black Panther production designer Hannah Beachler made history at last night’s Academy Awards when she took home an Oscar for “Best Production Design”.

Beachler became the first black woman to win in the “Best Production Design” category.
The Marvel Studios film was nominated for seven Academy Awards and took home three wins including “Best Original Score” (Ludwig Goransson), and another historic win by Ruth E. Carter who became the 1st black woman to win in the “Best Costume Design” category.

Black Panther was also the first superhero movie to be nominated for the “Best Picture” category. The film really knocked down barriers within the film industry.
