The two actresses are set to star in a comedy based on the classic Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
The original Dirty Rotten Scoundrels premiered in 1988 and starred Steve Martin and Michael Caine. The original film told the story of two con artists operating in the French Riviera and taking advantage of any woman who came their way. Though the two ultimately end up getting duped by one of their targets. It was a fun and comedic journey through the morally corrupt world of criminals, and the Frank Oz directed film was an instant classic making almost $42 million at the box office.

The new spinoff starring Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway, The Hustle, takes the original concept and flips it on its head. Instead, the two women work together to con morally corrupt men who “can’t believe a woman could be smarter than them.” It is refreshing to see two women taking control of a previously male-lead narrative, and, from the trailer, they seem to do it with style and class.
The trailer is quick, witty, and full of surprises. Hathaway and Wilson seem to have incredible chemistry together, and they bounce off of each other incredibly well. We can see all of the wonderful things the two do to con unsuspecting men and it is so satisfying to watch.
