Take a Look at Freeform’s Reboot of ‘Party of Five’

DisneyAbc/Freeform

The 90’s show is making a comeback but with a different storyline.

Party of Five was a popular 90’s show that revolved around five siblings that had to live on their own after their parents died in a car accident. It went on for six seasons until it ended in 2000. Recently, Freeform announced that it was rebooting the show with an all-new cast and an all-new storyline. The network stated that the cast will include Thirteen Reasons Why’s Brandon Larracuente, Emily Tosta, Niko Guardado, and Elle Paris Legaspi. The “new drama will follow the five Acosta children as they navigate daily life struggles to survive as a family unit after their parents are suddenly deported to Mexico”.

Freeform has been known for tackling social issues within their newest shows, from The Fosters to The Bold Type. We are glad that they are continuing their streak with this new reboot, particularly with such a major issue as deportation that results in the separation of families. It is so important to talk about these issues and we hope that this reboot will help start a global conversation.

Unfortunately, series does not have an official release date or a trailer but we are nonetheless excited that it is happening.
