Idris Elba to Star in New Supernatural Undersea Film
Idris Elba has been announced for new sci-fi film Deeper.
It has been quite the February for Idris Elba so far. We are only a few days in and he has already been announced for the new Fast and Furious spinoff, Hobbs and Shaw and we just got the announcement that he will be taking to the bottom of the ocean in a new sci-fi thriller called Deeper.

Idris Elba is no stranger to science fiction or the outlandish. He appeared frequently as Heimdall in Marvel’s Thor franchise and other related films. He took a spin in space with Star Trek Beyond. He’s gone into a more macabre world with his recent appearance in The Dark Tower. However, his role as Janek in Prometheus may be the aptest for this newest cinematic appearance.
What we do know about this film is that Elba will be playing a former astronaut exploring a newly discovered ocean trench. The film was written by Max Landis of Chronicle and Bright and produced by David Goyer of Man of Steel. All of these names alongside this concept is very exciting.

We can’t wait to see how Elba takes on this new role. Until we see him in Deeper, we will make sure to catch him on screen in Hobbs and Shaw.
