The iconic Riverdale universe will be expanding with a new Spinoff series on CW.

Riverdale is one of the most popular shows on television at the moment. With its amazing cast, intriguing storylines, and pangs of nostalgia, audiences can’t get enough.

Riverdale is a darker spin on the Archie comic book universe. It explores a dark and weird underside to what seems like the wholesome small town of Riverdale. With episodes airing weekly, it’s no wonder that most high schoolers and college students block out their Wednesday evenings to catch up on the hit drama. The show boasts an amazing cast including Lili Reinhardt, K. J. Apa, Camila Mendes, and, fan favorite, Cole Sprouse, among others.

The new CW show, which is yet to be named, will stay in the universe of the Archie comics but will focus on a different character, Katy Keene. This will be a new lens to see the world through and it’s very exciting. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi, both integral parts of the original Archie comics, will be writing the script for the new show.

CW ordered this spinoff alongside new spinoffs for Jane the Virgin, Lost Boys, and a new Nancy Drew reboot. Make sure to set your DVR because there is going to be so much new content to dig into.
