Get Ready For The Return of ‘2 Dope Queens’
The hit comedy duo, Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson, return to HBO for a second series of 2 Dope Queens with four one-hour-long specials starting February 8th.
Our favorites are back at Kings Theatre Brooklyn with some of their favorite stand-up comedians, Rory Scovel, Solomon Georgio, Bowen Yan, Jamie Lee, and Pat Brown. This season will even include celebrity guests Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther, Oscar winner for 12 Years a Slave), Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Janet Mock (Surpassing Certainty), Lizzo (Coconut Oil), and Keegan-Michael Key(Key & Peele). Take a look at a clip from last years special, featuring comedian Sheng Wang.
Throughout the four specials, these Cocoa Khaleesis will discuss their favorite childhood memories, how to create the best sex playlist and their favorite moments, all while serving looks and delivering their signature hilarious banter. Now, if you still don’t know who we’re talking about then allow us to refresh your memory.
Jessica Williams was recently featured as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks in the 2018 film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Her previous credits include critically acclaimed films, The Incredible Jessica James and People Places Things, and she was the youngest correspondent to date on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
Phoebe Robinson is the author of the New York Times bestseller You Can’t Touch My Hair and Other Things I Still Have to Explain. Her sophomore book, Everything’s Trash, But Its Okay, was published last fall. She moderated two book events with Michelle Obama for Becoming this past year. She’s appeared on the series “Search Party” and “Broad City,” and hosts the critically-acclaimed WNYC Studios podcast “Sooo Many White Guys.” She made her film debut in Ibiza and will appear in the feature What Men Want in February.
Mark your calendars and make sure to tune into 2 Dope Queens Friday, February 8th at 11:00 PM ET/PT exclusively on HBO.
