Netflix Announces Release Date for ‘Stranger Things 3’

Netflix

Netflix took to YouTube and Twitter to announce the upcoming third season of their highly anticipated show, Stranger Things.

On December 9, 2018, Netflix uploaded a ‘title tease’ video to their YouTube channel, announcing all the titles of the episodes in season three. From there, we got interesting and strange titles such as “Suzie, Do You Copy?” and “The Mall Rats” that left fans wondering about what’s to come. On the last day of 2018, they uploaded a video about the release date of the show on July 4, 2019. They also posted the announcement on Twitter.

The video of the announcement also comes in a very typical Stranger Things fashion, starting off with a television broadcast of Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve ringing in 1985. The broadcast is seemingly interrupted by a coding system. We hear, possibly the voice of Mike, clearly scream Eleven’s name right before the broadcast shuts off. The quote, “One summer can change everything,” comes on the screen in 8-bit green letters. The date July 4, 1985 is shown at the end until the year climbs up to 2019, finally revealing the release date.

Now all we have to wait for is for Netflix to release the trailer before we start piecing things together for season three. Until then, we’ll have to wait for the iconic theme music to rile us back up again.
