Beyoncé + Jay Z’s ‘Apesh*t’ Video Helped The Louvre Break Visitors In 2018

In the 2018 Jay Z and Beyoncé dropped their highly acclaimed video for ‘Apeshit’taken at the Lourve Museum, which showed art appreciation.

Thanks to Beyoncé and Jay Z, the number of visitors at the Louvre spiked after the Carters dropped the hit single “Apesh*t from their collaborative album, Everything is Love.

According to the Guardian, the number of people who visited the museum skyrocketed to 25%. There were over 10.2 million people who visited, which was a huge increase. The last time the museum had a similar number of visitors was in 2012 with 9.7 million. There was a decline in 2015 after the terrorist attacks.

In a statement by the museum director, Jean-Luc Martinez said that they owe the credit to the Carters.

“The recovery of tourism in France, especially in Paris boosted visitor attendance in 2018, as did the flagship exhibition ‘Delacroix (1798–1863). Elsewhere in the world, interest in the Louvre was bolstered by the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and by Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s “Apesh*t” video, with its tribute to some of the museum’s greatest artworks.”
