La La Anthony Reflects After NAACP Award Win

The actress and television personality shared a heartfelt post about what the NACCP Award means to her.

La La Anthony was recently honored with an NAACP Image Award. The best-selling author shared the news with fans on her Instagram and expressed how thankful she was for the award, and gave advice to anyone trying to make it in life. La La reflected on her own upbringing to show fans that they should not give up on their dreams and nothing is unachievable. She talked about how she is just a girl from Brooklyn raised in the Marcy projects, and that hard work pays off.

Came home today to my 1st NAACP IMAGE AWARD for my role in THE NEW EDITION STORY. Wow. Im just a girl from Brooklyn, my mom born & raised in the Marcy projects, proving everyday that hard work pays off. Don’t let anyone put u in a box‼️I’ve heard so many times “you can’t be an actress, u used to be a radio personality or an mtv vj” 🙄LISTEN CAREFULLY…YOU CAN BE WHOEVER AND WHATEVER YOU WANT TO BE but YOU have to believe it first‼️Don’t let the outside noise distract you or discourage you!
