The streaming service pays tribute to the musician by releasing tracks he recorded at their studio earlier this year.

Spotify has released a set of songs recorded by rapper/singer Mac Miller prior to his passing. Miller performed the songs live at Spotify Studios NYC in August of this year.

The two-track EP is a part of the streaming service’s Spotify Singles series, which first launched in 2017. This project highlights a different artist or band weekly by inviting them to record a special rendition of their songs for release exclusively on Spotify. Other artists featured in 2018 include Panic! at the Disco and James Bay. The EP features one original track and a cover. “Dunno” is the first song, which was originally released on Miller’s 2018 album entitled Swimming. Miller also covered R&B musician Billy Preston’s “Nothing from Nothing” during the session.

Along with the release of the EP, Spotify also released never-before-seen footage of Miller recording the tracks in the studio. In this short clip, the artist is seen practicing on his electric guitar, playing the piano, and laying down vocals for the tracks.

These acoustic recordings are a wonderful tribute that showcase Mac Miller’s incredible talent.
