Shawn Mendes Addresses Insecurities in an Honest Interview
Shawn Mendes opened his heart in a raw, honest interview with Rolling Stone, and we are here for it.
The 20-year-old touched on sensitive topics, ranging from his past relationship with Hailey Baldwin to his insecurities with sexuality.

Mendes and Baldwin sparked a short-lived romance earlier this summer, only a month prior to Baldwin’s engagement to Justin Bieber. While Mendes sent a congratulatory text to his ex, he admitted he is still only human and is occasionally bothered by her newfound marriage.
In a moment of jealously, he even considered being photographed with somebody else so the model would see, but he quickly decided against the impulse. It’s okay Shawn, we’ve all been there.
Mendes additionally opened up about his insecurity regarding his sexuality. Many fans have questioned and doubted the singer’s heterosexuality, and while Mendes realizes this isn’t negative, it still leaves him feeling the need to prove his masculinity.
The artist recalled his long-time pal, Taylor Swift, sending a text to ask permission to post a video of her applying sparkly eye-shadow to his eyes. While the artist allowed the Instagram video, he admitted it led to him waking up in the middle of the night in sweats, worsening his fear of being questioned further.
