COVERGIRL is now officially the first major drugstore brand to achieve this accomplishment, following in the footsteps of other smaller beauty brands. The company’s goal is to inspire its fellow influential makeup brands to switch to cruelty-free products.

In order to ensure they are fully adhering to the cruelty-free standard, COVERGIRL’s parent company, Coty, has demonstrated that even the brand’s third-party ingredient suppliers do not test on animals. Coty also owns both Max Factor and Rimmel cosmetics, and hopes to extend their cruelty-free practices to these brands by 2020.
