The singer must have shaken herself too because halfway through the choreography Ariana nearly fell while stepping off a chair.

“Oh my god!” the “God is a Woman” singer shouted right before she gained her balance and corrected course.

Ariana’s performance was inspired by one of her favorite movies, The First Wives Club (1996), and she displayed the contemporary parts and self-empowerment for the performance.

Ariana and her two dancers were dressed in white and did some of the same dance moves that Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, and Diane Keaton did when they performed the hit song “You Don’t Own Me” from the end of the movie.

“Thank U Next” is about Ariana finding peace and new happiness despite having failed relationships with Pete Davidson, Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, and the late Mac Miller. The song is not a diss at her exes, but it is about self-love and self-empowerment.

Ariana revealed on Twitter that she played “Thank U Next” for Sean, Ricky, and Pete before its release.
We are just glad that the singer is in a good place. Self-Love is key.

Ariana also performed a track off of Sweetener, “Breathin” for the first time during the Ellen visit.
